DroneX – 6-Month Diploma in Drone Operations
Course Description
The Diploma in Drone Operations is a comprehensive 6-month professional program designed to prepare students for the rapidly growing drone industry in India and abroad. Delivered under the Drone-X brand, the course blends theory, simulator-based training, live flying practice, and industry projects to ensure students become certified, job-ready drone professionals.
From mastering drone hardware and flight principles to learning mapping, surveying, agriculture, security, and defense applications, students gain a 360° understanding of drone operations. A Capstone Project and Industry Internship give hands-on exposure, bridging the gap between training and real-world drone applications.
Learning Outcomes
- Explain airframes, propulsion, power systems, and multi‑sensor payloads (RGB,
Thermal, Multispectral). - Plan and execute DGCA‑compliant missions with safety, NOTAM checks, permissions,
and documentation. - Perform mapping & surveying (CRS, GCPs, flight overlap) and process data into Ortho mosaics, DSM/DTM, contours, 3D models.
- Apply drones in agriculture (NDVI/VARI), surveillance/security, disaster relief, and inspection (solar/telecom).
- Operate DroneDeploy/Pix4D/QGIS and mission planners; read flight logs and configure
failsafes/RTL/fences. - Conduct investigations/forensics, draft incident reports, and follow chain‑of‑custody
practices. - Deliver client‑ready outputs and reports; maintain flight, battery and maintenance logs.
- Complete a capstone and internship that demonstrate real‑world competence and employability.
Course Contents
- Month 1: Fundamentals, flight, assembly/maintenance, DGCA overview.
- Month 2: Payloads & sensors, GCPs & mapping, GIS/QGIS, photogrammetry + outdoor practice.
